Target Information
PRL-2 (Protein tyrosine phosphatase 4a2, Ptp4a2) is a nuclear protein tyrosine phosphatase involved in regulating diverse cellular processes. It shares 87% amino acid identity with PRL-1 and contains a C-terminal prenylation consensus sequence. PRL-2 is preferentially expressed in skeletal muscle and at lower levels in other tissues. All PRL proteins exhibit significant sequence homology to Cdc14p and the tumor suppressor PTEN/MMAC1.
