Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Hexokinases phosphorylate glucose to produce glucose 6-phosphate, committing glucose to the glycolytic pathway. In vertebrates, there are four major glucose phosphorylating isoenzymes: hexokinase I, II, III, and IV (glucokinase). Hexokinase III is an allosteric enzyme inhibited by glucose 6-phosphate. Its catalytic activity is associated with the C terminus, while regulatory function is associated with the N terminus.
