복합체 I의 철-황 단백질 분획은 7개의 서브유닛으로 구성되며, 이 유전자 산물도 그 중 하나입니다.
복합체 I은 NADH 산화와 동시에 유비퀴논 환원 및 미토콘드리아 외부로의 양성자 방출을 촉매합니다.
이 유전자의 돌연변이는 미토콘드리아 복합체 I 결핍과 관련이 있습니다.
