Target Information

EPHA8 is a member of the ephrin receptor subfamily within the protein-tyrosine kinase family. These receptors are involved in developmental processes, particularly in the nervous system.
EPHA8 mediates short-range, contact-dependent axonal guidance during mammalian nervous system development.
Ephrin receptors typically feature a single kinase domain and an extracellular region with a cysteine-rich domain and two fibronectin type III repeats.
The ephrin receptor family is divided into two groups based on extracellular domain similarity and binding affinity for ephrin-A or ephrin-B ligands.
