OPRD1는 불안, 우울증 및 통증 조절에 관여하는 오피오이드 수용체입니다. 기분 장애 및 약물 중독 치료의 잠재적 타겟으로 연구되고 있습니다. 델타 및 카파 오피오이드 수용체는 헤테로다이머를 형성하여 상호 작용하며, 주로 뇌에서 발현됩니다. 높은 OPRD1 발현은 대뇌피질, 꼬리핵, 해마, 측좌핵 및 피각에서 보고되었으며, 낮은 발현은 소뇌, 시상하부, 흑질 및 시상에서 확인되었습니다. 알츠하이머병 환자의 피각 및 편도체, 파킨슨병 환자의 피각에서 OPRD1 발현이 감소하는 것으로 보고되었습니다.
