Target Information
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) 환자 중 유전적 형태를 가진 경우, presenilin 단백질(PSEN1 또는 PSEN2) 또는 amyloid precursor protein (APP)에 돌연변이가 존재합니다. 이러한 돌연변이는 AD 뇌에서 발견되는 아밀로이드 침전물의 주요 구성 성분인 긴 형태의 amyloid-beta 생산을 증가시킵니다. Presenilin은 gamma-secretase 효소를 통한 APP 처리 조절에 관여하며, Notch receptor 절단에도 관련되어 있는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. PSEN2는 서로 다른 isoform을 암호화하는 두 가지 대체 스플라이싱 전사 변이체를 가집니다.
