Target Information
ORAI3 is a protein coding gene involved in calcium signaling and regulation of calcium homeostasis. It is a member of the ORAI family that forms calcium release-activated calcium (CRAC) channels in the plasma membrane. These channels are activated by calcium depletion from the endoplasmic reticulum, leading to an influx of calcium ions into the cytoplasm.
ORAI3 is implicated in T-cell activation, muscle contraction, and neurotransmitter release. Dysregulation of ORAI3 expression or function is associated with immune disorders, cancer, and cardiovascular disease.
