Target Information
GNG7 is a guanine nucleotide-binding protein (G proteins) involved as a modulator or transducer in various transmembrane signaling systems.
The beta and gamma chains are required for GTPase activity, GDP-GTP exchange, and G protein-effector interaction.
It plays a role in regulating adenylyl cyclase signaling in certain brain regions and contributes to the formation or stabilization of the G(olf) heterotrimer (alpha-beta-gamma-7) necessary for adenylyl cyclase activity in the striatum.
