Product Specific Information
The 16-10A1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD80 (B7-1), a 55 kDa member of the Ig superfamily. CD80 is expressed by macrophages, dendritic cells, activated B cells, and activated T cells. It binds with high affinity to CD28 and CD152 (CTLA-4) on T cells, playing a crucial role in T-B cell communication and activation.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested on activated mouse splenocytes at ≤0.06 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell count may vary (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Antibody titration recommended for optimal performance.
Light Sensitivity: Tandem dye is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation; protect from light.
Fixation: Samples can be fixed using IC Fixation Buffer (100 µL sample + 100 µL buffer) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal brightness loss.
Excitation/Emission: 488–561 nm / 667 nm; compatible with Blue, Green, and Yellow-Green lasers.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
CD80 (B7-1) and CD86 (B7-2) are ligands for T cell costimulatory molecule CD28 and inhibitory receptor CTLA-4 (CD152). Both are expressed on professional antigen-presenting cells and are essential for T cell activation. CD80 is rapidly induced on activated B cells and various lymphoma cell lines. Dysfunction in CD80 is associated with diseases such as gallbladder squamous cell carcinoma and myocarditis.
