Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Human Rap1 (HRap1) is the first identified ortholog of yeast telomeric protein scRap1, sharing three conserved sequence motifs. HRap1 localizes to telomeres and influences telomere length by recruitment via TRF2 rather than direct binding. The human Rap1 cDNA encodes a 399 amino acid protein (~47 kDa) that does not interact with TRF1. TRF2, a ubiquitously expressed telomere-binding protein, maintains telomere structure and prevents senescence and apoptosis in certain mammalian cells.
