Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional round of desalting using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Crystallins are categorized into two classes: taxon-specific (enzyme) and ubiquitous. The ubiquitous class forms the major proteins of the vertebrate eye lens, maintaining transparency and refractive index.
Lens fiber cells lose their nuclei during development, retaining crystallins throughout life, resulting in high protein stability.
Mammalian lens crystallins are divided into alpha, beta, and gamma families, with beta and gamma forming a superfamily.
Gamma-crystallins are monomeric, highly symmetrical proteins lacking connecting peptides and terminal extensions, and are differentially regulated after early development.
Mutations or aging-related changes in gamma-crystallins are associated with cataract formation.
