Target Information

This gene encodes a subunit of mitochondrial ATP synthase. Mitochondrial ATP synthase catalyzes ATP synthesis utilizing an electrochemical gradient of protons across the inner membrane during oxidative phosphorylation.
ATP synthase consists of two linked multi-subunit complexes:

• F1: soluble catalytic core
• Fo: membrane-spanning component forming the proton channel

The catalytic portion includes 5 different subunits (α, β, γ, δ, ε) assembled with a stoichiometry of 3 α, 3 β, and one each of the others.
The proton channel contains nine subunits (a, b, c, d, e, f, g, F6, and 8).
This antibody targets the b subunit of the proton channel.
