Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Antigen retrieval: Heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires the same heating and cooling procedure as above.
Target Information
hCG beta is the beta chain of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), a 40 kDa glycoprotein hormone produced by trophoblastic cells of the placenta starting 10–12 days after conception.
hCG consists of alpha and beta subunits that are non-covalently associated. The alpha subunit is shared with pituitary hormones (FSH, LH, TSH), while the beta subunit provides biological specificity.
During early pregnancy, hCG maintains the corpus luteum, stimulating progesterone production to sustain the endometrium. hCG levels are low in non-pregnant individuals but rise sharply during pregnancy.
Diseases associated with hCG dysfunction include gestational trophoblastic tumor, hydatidiform mole, and recurrent pregnancy-related disorders.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
