Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
UCH-L5 (ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase isozyme L5), also known as UCH37, is a 329 amino acid protein involved in editing polyubiquitinated protein substrates. UCH-L5 can rescue ubiquitinated proteins, including oncogenic ones, from proteasomal degradation, suggesting that deregulation may influence tumor growth. Through association with Smad7, UCH-L5 can upregulate TGFβ-dependent gene expression by deubiquitinating and stabilizing TGFβ RI. Overexpression of UCH-L5 and other deubiquitinating enzymes has been observed in various cancer cell lines, indicating potential therapeutic interest. Four isoforms of UCH-L5 exist due to alternative splicing events.
