Target Information
AKR1C4 유전자는 aldo/keto reductase 초과가족에 속하며, 40개 이상의 효소 및 단백질을 포함합니다. 이 효소들은 NADH 및/또는 NADPH를 보조인자로 사용하여 알데하이드와 케톤을 대응하는 알코올로 환원시킵니다.
AKR1C4는 간에서 독성 유기염소계 살충제 chlordecone을 chlordecone alcohol로 환원하는 반응을 촉매합니다.
이 유전자는 다른 세 유전자와 높은 서열 유사성을 가지며, 염색체 10p15-p14 영역에 클러스터로 존재합니다.
