Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to a family of proteins containing conserved PDZ and LIM domains. LIM domains mediate protein–protein interactions involved in gene transcription, development, and cytoskeletal organization. The LIM domains of this protein bind to protein kinases, while the PDZ domain associates with actin filaments. This protein is implicated in forming an actin filament-associated complex essential for ret/ptc2 mitogenic signaling. It likely functions as an adapter, localizing LIM-binding proteins to actin filaments in both skeletal and nonmuscle tissues. Multiple transcript variants are produced through alternative splicing.
