The allophycocyanin (APC)-Alexa Fluor™ 750 dye tandem conjugate allows for multicolor measurements using excitation by lasers that emit from 633 to 650 nm.


Target Information

CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein expressed on mature monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. It functions as a lipopolysaccharide (LPS) receptor and is released into serum as both secreted and cleaved GPI-anchored forms. CD14 interacts with LPS via LBP (lipopolysaccharide-binding protein), aiding in immune response modulation. Soluble CD14 (sCD14) can distinguish structural differences between LPS molecules and plays a role in neutralizing foreign lipopolysaccharides. It also binds apoptotic cells and influences allergic, inflammatory, and infectious processes. Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants encoding the same CD14 isoform. CD14 dysfunction is associated with mycobacterium chelonae infection and croup.
