Target Information
The cysteine-rich secretory proteins (CRISP) family consists of four proteins highly expressed in the male reproductive tract, associated with roles in male fertility.
CRISP2 (also known as TPX1) is involved in adhesion between spermatids and Sertoli cells, and together with CRISP1, may participate in sperm-egg fusion.
CRISP2 regulates Ca²⁺ influx through ryanodine receptors (RYR), influencing acrosome reaction or sperm motility.
It binds to MAP3K11 and localizes to the developing acrosome, suggesting the CRISP2–MAP3K11 complex may play a role in acrosome development.
