Target Information
TRPL is a light-sensitive calcium channel required for inositide-mediated Ca²⁺ entry in the retina during phospholipase C (PLC)-mediated phototransduction.
This protein is essential for vision in the dark and dim light.
TRPL binds calmodulin and interacts with Trp in the light response, potentially as heteromultimers or distinct units.
TRPL also forms a functional cation channel with trp-gamma and is activated by fatty acids, metabolic stress, inositols, and GTP-binding proteins.
