Product Specific Information
The MB19-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD19, a 95 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein expressed by B cells during all stages of development except terminally differentiated plasma cells. Follicular dendritic cells also express CD19. Together with CD21, CD81, and MHC class II, CD19 forms a multimolecular complex associated with the B cell receptor (BCR). Signaling through CD19 induces tyrosine phosphorylation, calcium flux, and B cell proliferation.
Staining with MB19-1 and its conjugates is typically dimmer than that of the rat anti-mouse CD19 antibody clone 6D5.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometry using mouse splenocytes at ≤ 0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titer should be determined empirically.
Excitation: 633–647 nm
Emission: 660 nm
Laser: Red Laser
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered
Target Information
CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on nearly all peripheral B cells and certain myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 acts as a key regulator of normal and malignant B cell proliferation and serves as a signal-amplifying co-receptor for the BCR. Mutations in the CD19 gene can lead to hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression may cause B cell hyperactivity.
