Target Information
IKIP (Inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa-B kinase-interacting protein, IKK-interacting protein)는 단일 통과 막 단백질로, APAF1과 공통 프로모터를 공유합니다. 두 유전자는 X선 조사에 의해 유도되지만, 서로 반대 방향으로 전사됩니다. IKIP는 p53의 표적 유전자로 여겨지며, IKIP의 발현은 세포사멸(apoptosis)을 촉진하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
IKIP는 4개의 isoform을 가지며, 이 중 3개는 소포체 막을 통과합니다. Isoform 4는 막 통과 영역이 결실되어 세포 내에 균일하게 분포합니다. IKIP 유전자 산물은 혈관 내피세포에서 발현되며, isoform 4는 폐, 신장, 비장, 흉선 및 골격근에서도 검출됩니다.
