Target Information
AKT2 is a phosphoinositide-dependent serine/threonine protein kinase enriched in insulin-responsive tissues. It plays a key role in metabolic signaling and acts as a transducer for functions initiated by growth factor receptors activating PI 3-kinase. AKT2 amplification and overexpression have been observed in certain human cancers.
