Target Information
BCL-2는 세포사멸(apoptosis)을 조절하는 주요 단백질로, 세포 사멸을 억제하거나 촉진하는 역할을 합니다. BCL-2 패밀리 단백질들은 서로 이합체를 형성하여 세포사멸을 조절합니다. 예를 들어, Bag1은 BCL-2와 이합체를 형성하여 항세포사멸 효과를 강화합니다. Bax와 Bak은 미토콘드리아로부터 cytochrome c 방출을 유도하여 세포사멸을 개시하는 데 중요한 역할을 합니다.
BCL-2의 지속적 발현은 여포성 림프종과 같은 암 발생과 관련이 있으며, 대부분의 여포성 림프종에서는 BCL-2 단백질이 과발현되어 있습니다. 또한, BCL-2의 과발현은 B세포 림프종 및 전립선암 등 다양한 인간 암종과 연관되어 있습니다.
