Target Information
TFIID is a general transcription factor initiating preinitiation complex assembly through interaction with the TATA promoter element. It consists of a small TATA-binding polypeptide and other TBP-associated factors (TAFs).
TAF II p100 (TAF5 or TAFII100) is the third largest subunit of human TFIID, containing six WD40 repeats at the C-terminus and an N-terminus forming a flexible dimer. It plays a key role in forming the scaffold for TFIID complex assembly and stabilizing TAF interactions.
