Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
SLC4A4 encodes a sodium bicarbonate cotransporter (NBC) involved in bicarbonate secretion, absorption, and intracellular pH regulation. It functions as an electrogenic sodium/bicarbonate cotransporter with a Na⁺:HCO₃⁻ stoichiometry of 1:2 to 1:3. SLC4A4 regulates bicarbonate flux at the basolateral membrane and intracellular pH. Isoform 2 exhibits higher activity than isoform 1. Mutations in SLC4A4 are linked to proximal renal tubular acidosis and ocular abnormalities. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms exist.
