PI4KB와 PI4KA는 인간의 type III PI4 kinase로, PI3 kinase와 유사한 서열을 공유하며 phosphatidylinositol의 4번 위치를 인산화합니다. 이 단백질은 alanine, serine, cysteine, threonine 수송에 관여하며, sodium 의존성을 보입니다. 또한 phosphatidylinositol (PtdIns)을 D4 위치에서 인산화하여 신경 분화 및 성숙에 관여할 수 있습니다.
