Product Specific Information

MA5-17171 targets SERPINE1 in FACS, IHC, indirect ELISA, and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human SERPINE1 expressed in E. coli.
MA5-17171 detects SERPINE1, which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 45 kDa.


Target Information

PAI1 (plasminogen activator inhibitor 1) belongs to the serine protease inhibitor superfamily and is the principal inhibitor of tissue-type and urokinase-type plasminogen activators (tPA and uPA).
Platelets are the main source of circulating PAI1, but it is also synthesized and secreted by many tissue and cell types, including fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, endothelial cells, hepatocytes, and inflammatory cells.
Expression of PAI1 can be regulated by various factors such as growth factors, cytokines, hormones, inflammatory mediators, glucose or lipid metabolites, and environmental or physical stimuli.
Elevated PAI1 levels are associated with increased thrombosis risk in obesity, thrombophilia, and metabolic syndrome.
Defects in PAI1 are linked to abnormal bleeding and fibrinolysis inhibition disorders, including plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 deficiency.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms of PAI1 have been identified.
