Product Specific Information

This HRP-conjugated anti-GFP antibody is a purified rabbit IgG fraction conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP). It is certified to be free of unconjugated dyes and tested for low nonspecific staining.
Suitable for detection of native GFP, GFP variants, and most GFP-fusion proteins in western blot and immunocytochemistry.

Recommended Use:

• Dilution: 1:200–1:2,000 for WB and ICC
• Centrifuge briefly before use and use only the supernatant to minimize background staining.

Storage and Reconstitution:

• Store lyophilized powder desiccated at or below -20°C; stable for at least one year.
• Reconstitute with 200 µL PBS (pH 7.2) to obtain a 1 mg/mL stock solution containing 0.02% thimerosal.
• After reconstitution, store at 4°C.
• For long-term storage, add glycerol (final 50% v/v), aliquot, and store at or below -20°C. Stable for ~3 months.

Target Information

Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) from Aequorea victoria emits green light during bioluminescence.
It is widely used as a reporter for gene expression and as a fusion tag to study protein localization and dynamics in living cells.
GFP is a 27 kDa monomeric protein that forms a fluorescent pigment without requiring cofactors. It absorbs blue light (395 nm) and emits green light (508 nm).
Applications include:

• Monitoring gene expression and protein localization
• Studying protein–protein interactions (yeast two-hybrid system)
• Measuring molecular distances via FRET experiments
