Target Information
Melanoma-associated antigen (MAGE) family proteins are silent in normal tissues except for male germ cells and placenta. These antigens are tumor-specific, expressed in various tumor types, and are of interest for antitumor immunotherapy. MAGE family genes encode tumor antigens recognized by autologous cytolytic T lymphocytes on human melanoma. The function of MAGEH1 is not fully elucidated but may be involved in embryonal development, tumor transformation, or progression.
