Target Information
BCAS1는 위치 클로닝을 통해 확인되었으며 대부분의 유방암 세포주에서 과발현되는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. BCAS1은 세포질에 위치하며 코일드-코일 구조를 통해 호모다이머를 형성하는 것으로 추정됩니다. BCAS1 mRNA는 뇌와 전립선에서 높은 수준으로 발현되며, 대장, 장, 고환에서는 낮은 수준을 보입니다. BCAS1을 과발현시킨 세포는 부착 의존적 성장 특성을 잃지 않았으며 성장 속도가 증가하지 않아, BCAS1이 전형적인 종양유전자(onco-gene)는 아닌 것으로 보입니다. BCAS1 유전자는 췌장암 등 다른 암종에서도 증폭되어 세포 증식 조절에 중요한 역할을 할 가능성이 있습니다.
