Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.
Target Information
Desmoglein 3 (Dsg3), also known as Cadherin family member 6 (CDHF6), is part of the desmosomal cadherin family and plays a crucial role in cell-cell adhesion. It is predominantly expressed in stratified squamous epithelium, including skin, oral mucosa, and esophagus. Dsg3 is the autoantigen of pemphigus vulgaris (PV), a severe autoimmune disease. Binding of anti-Dsg3 autoantibodies leads to loss of cell-cell adhesion, clinically resulting in skin and mucosal blisters and histologically in suprabasilar acantholysis.
