Target Information
DjC9 (DnaJ subfamily C member 9) belongs to the Hsp40 (heat shock protein 40) family, which functions as co-chaperones to Hsp70. Hsp40 proteins are classified into three subfamilies (A, B, and C), defined by the presence of particular domains such as the conserved J-domain, glycine/phenylalanine-rich region, cysteine-rich region, and C-terminal beta-sheet domain.
DjC9 is part of subfamily C, containing only the J-domain. It interacts with HSP70 through its J-domain and activates its ATPase activity.
