This antibody detects endogenous levels of total PTPN7 protein.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family, which are signaling molecules regulating various cellular processes such as cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation.
PTPN7 is preferentially expressed in hematopoietic cells and acts as an early response gene in lymphokine-stimulated cells. Its noncatalytic N-terminus interacts with MAP kinases to suppress their activities, playing a role in T cell antigen receptor signaling through dephosphorylation of MAP kinase pathway-related molecules.
Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
