Product Specific Information

The MR1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD154, a 39 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein also known as CD40 Ligand (CD40L). CD154 is transiently expressed by activated T cells. By binding to CD40 on antigen-presenting cells (APCs) such as B cells, monocytes/macrophages, and dendritic cells, it plays a key role in T cell–APC interactions.
This interaction triggers B cell activation and induces cell cycle entry.

For flow cytometry staining, enriched T cells or CD4 cells should be stimulated prior to staining with MR1.

Target Information

CD40 Ligand (CD40-L, CD154) is a membrane glycoprotein expressed on activated T cells. It stimulates B cell proliferation and immunoglobulin secretion in the presence of cytokines. CD40L also induces cytokine production and tumoricidal activity in monocytes, and co-stimulates T cell proliferation with IFN-γ, TNF-α, and IL-2 production.
