Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform desalting using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).

Target Information

Retinoic acid-inducible gene I (RIG-I) is a pattern recognition receptor (PRR) that detects viral double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) and initiates innate immune responses.

  • Works alongside MDA5 in recognizing viral RNA.
  • Activated by short dsRNAs lacking a 5′-triphosphate end.
  • Signals through IPS-1 to activate NF-κB and IRF-3, leading to apoptosis and cytokine signaling.
  • Plays a key role in responses to influenza A/B, RSV, paramyxoviruses, Japanese encephalitis virus, and West Nile virus.
  • MicroRNA-146a negatively regulates RIG-I targets (TRAF6, IRAK1, IRAK2) for feedback inhibition.
  • Recent evidence links RIG-I to cytosolic DNA detection via RNA polymerase III.
