Target Information

CD79a is a disulphide-linked heterodimer that includes the B29 (CD79b) polypeptide. It functions as part of the B lymphocyte antigen receptor complex, associating with Ig-alpha and Ig-beta, which are essential for B-cell receptor expression and function. CD79a expression begins at the pre-B cell stage and continues until the plasma cell stage, where it remains intracellular. It is commonly found in precursor B-cell acute leukemias, B cell lines, B cell lymphomas, and some myelomas, but absent in myeloid or T cell lines.
Diseases associated with CD79a include Agammaglobulinemia 3 and Agammaglobulinemia, Non-Bruton type.
