Target Information
JAM3는 세포 간 밀착연접(tight junction)에 관여하며, 상피세포 또는 내피세포 시트에서 세포 간 연속적인 밀폐 구조를 형성하여 용질과 물이 자유롭게 통과하는 것을 방지하는 물리적 장벽 역할을 합니다. 이 단백질은 고내피세포 사이의 밀착연접에 위치하며, 백혈구 세포주와의 부착 능력은 없고 약한 동종 상호작용만 형성합니다. Junctional adhesion molecule (JAM) 단백질 패밀리의 일원으로, 동일 패밀리의 다른 단백질에 대한 수용체로 작용합니다.
