Target Information
CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on all peripheral B cells and certain leukemia cells, particularly of monocytic lineage. CD19 acts as a signal-amplifying coreceptor for the B cell receptor (BCR) and plays a key role in regulating normal and malignant B cell proliferation. Mutations in CD19 can lead to hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression may cause B cell hyperactivity.
