Product Specific Information

The R-phycoerythrin (PE)-Cy5.5 tandem conjugate enables simultaneous multicolor labeling and detection of multiple targets using a single excitation source—the 488 nm line of the argon-ion laser.


Target Information

HLA-DR is a transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the MHC class II family, composed of a 36 kDa alpha chain (DRA) and a 27 kDa beta chain (DRB).

  • The alpha chain gene contains 5 exons:
    • Exon 1 encodes the leader peptide
    • Exons 2 and 3 encode extracellular domains
    • Exon 4 encodes the transmembrane domain and cytoplasmic tail
  • DRA acts as the sole alpha chain for DRB1, DRB3, DRB4, and DRB5, lacking polymorphisms in the peptide-binding region.
  • The DRB beta chain contains polymorphisms determining peptide-binding specificity.
  • HLA-DR is expressed primarily on antigen-presenting cells such as B lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, thymic epithelial cells, and activated T lymphocytes.
  • DR, DQ, and DP loci encode the major expressed products of the human class II region.
  • MHC class II molecules bind intracellularly processed peptides, present them to T-helper cells, and play a critical role in initiating immune responses.

HLA and MHC antibodies are essential tools in Immunopeptidomics, supporting identification and characterization of neoantigens through high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) coupled with tandem mass spectrometry.
