Product Specific Information
This antibody recognizes FOXP1 (Forkhead box protein P1) and binds to a folded domain corresponding to amino acids 302–541. FOXP1 is a transcriptional repressor involved in the specification and differentiation of lung epithelium.
Target Information
The FOXP1 gene belongs to the forkhead box (FOX) transcription factor family, subfamily P. These transcription factors regulate tissue- and cell type-specific gene expression during development and adulthood. FOXP1 contains DNA-binding and protein-protein interaction domains and may function as a tumor suppressor, as it is lost in several tumor types. It maps to chromosome 3p14.1, a region containing tumor suppressor gene(s). Alternative splicing produces multiple isoforms.
