Target Information
KEAP1 (Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1) encodes a protein containing KELCH-1 like domains and a BTB/POZ domain. KEAP1 interacts with NF-E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) in a redox-sensitive manner. Upon dissociation, Nrf2 translocates to the nucleus, inducing expression of gamma-glutamylcysteine synthetase catalytic subunit. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same isoform have been identified.
