Product Specific Information
1 µg/mL of MA5-45533 was sufficient for detection of GABA(B)R2 in 20 µg of rat brain membrane lysate using colorimetric immunoblot analysis with goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
Detects approximately 105 kDa. No cross-reactivity against GABA(B)R1.
This antibody was formerly sold as clone S81-2.
Target Information
GABBR2 is a multi-pass membrane protein belonging to the G-protein coupled receptor 3 family and GABA-B receptor subfamily. It inhibits neuronal activity via G protein-coupled second-messenger systems that regulate neurotransmitter release and ion channel activity.
GABBR2 forms an active heterodimer with GABA-B receptor subunit 1 (GABBR1); neither subunit is functional alone.
Allelic variants of this gene have been associated with nicotine dependence.
