어떤 LHFP 유사 유전자의 변이는 인간과 생쥐에서 청각 장애를 유발하며, 또 다른 LHFP 유사 유전자는 이동 관련 지방종에서 high-mobility group 유전자와 융합됩니다.
LHFPL4로 명명된 부분 유전자 단편은 이 유전자의 첫 번째 엑손 일부에 해당합니다.
