Target Information
The Annexin A2 gene encodes a calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding protein involved in cellular growth regulation and signal transduction pathways. This protein functions as an autocrine factor enhancing osteoclast formation and bone resorption. The gene has three pseudogenes located on chromosomes 4, 9, and 10. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
