Target Information
KIAA0391, also known as MRPP3 (mitochondrial ribonuclease P protein 3), is a 583 amino acid protein located in the mitochondria. It functions in tRNA maturation and is a component of mitochondrial ribonuclease P, which cleaves tRNA at the 5'-end. This enzyme complex consists of RG9MTD1, MRPP22, and KIAA0391 subunits. Due to alternative splicing, four isoforms of KIAA0391 exist. The gene encoding KIAA0391 is mapped to human chromosome 14, which contains about 700 genes and accounts for approximately 3.5% of human cellular DNA.
