Target Information
The ADAM32 gene encodes a member of the disintegrin family of membrane-anchored proteins involved in various biological processes including brain development, fertilization, tumor development, and inflammation. It is predominantly expressed in the testis. The protein undergoes proteolytic processing to produce a mature polypeptide containing metalloprotease, disintegrin, and epidermal growth factor-like domains. The gene is located in a cluster of disintegrin and metallopeptidase family genes on chromosome 8, and alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
