The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).

Target Information

The HFE protein is a membrane protein similar to MHC class I-type proteins and associates with beta2-microglobulin. It regulates iron absorption by modulating the interaction between the transferrin receptor and transferrin. Mutations in this gene cause hereditary haemochromatosis, a recessive iron storage disorder. Multiple alternatively spliced variants have been reported.
