Target Information
Histone 단백질은 진핵세포 염색질의 기본 구조 단위인 뉴클레오솜 형성을 담당하는 핵 단백질입니다.
H2A, H2B, H3, H4 네 가지 코어 히스톤이 각각 두 분자씩 모여 옥타머를 형성하고, 약 146 bp의 DNA가 이를 감싸 뉴클레오솜을 구성합니다.
Histone H1은 뉴클레오솜 사이의 DNA를 결합하여 고차 구조로의 염색질 압축에 기여합니다.
이 유전자는 인트론이 없으며 polyA tail 대신 팔린드롬 종결 요소를 포함하고, 염색체 6번의 대형 히스톤 유전자 클러스터에 위치합니다.
