Antibody detects endogenous levels of total PACS2.
Target Information
PACS2 is a multifunctional sorting protein that regulates endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-mitochondria communication, including the alignment of mitochondria with the ER and maintenance of ER homeostasis.
In response to apoptotic stimuli, PACS2 translocates BID to mitochondria, initiating events such as the formation of truncated BID, release of cytochrome c, and activation of caspase-3, leading to cell death.
PACS2 may also participate in ion channel trafficking, directing acidic cluster-containing ion channels to specific subcellular compartments.
