Target Information
ALKBH8는 tRNA의 anticodon loop wobble 위치에서 5-carboxymethyl uridine을 5-methylcarboxymethyl uridine으로 메틸화하는 효소로 작용합니다 (PubMed:20123966, 20308323).
이 효소는 tRNA(Arg) 및 tRNA(Glu)에 대한 선호성을 가지며, tRNA(Lys)에는 결합하지 않습니다.
또한 iron 및 alpha-ketoglutarate 의존적 hydroxylation 반응을 통해 5-(S)-methoxycarbonylhydroxymethyluridine을 형성하며, tRNA(Gly)에 대한 친화성을 보입니다 (PubMed:21285950).
DNA 손상 후 정상적인 생존에 필요하며, 세포 생존 및 혈관신생을 촉진할 수 있습니다 (PubMed:19293182).
